Hawzah News Agency(Mashhad - Iran) - The courtyards of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine becomes full of joy and happiness on the auspicious birth anniversary of the Imam with lovers and devotees of the eighth Infallible Imam of Shia Muslims celebrating the occasion.

The courtyards were decorated and illuminated on birth night of Imam Reza (AS) by a large number of pilgrims, neighbors and citizens of Mashhad, northwest Iran.

Observing all health protocols and social distancing, lovers and devotees of the Imam packed the shrine to celebrate and congratulate this auspicious birth anniversary.

Reading Amin Allah supplication, eulogy recitations, poems by poets and panegyrists of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) were among special programs of the ceremony.

Also, servants of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine attended the Naqqareh (drum) house of the shrine and congratulated the occasion to Imam Mahdi (AS), playing the traditional music toward golden dome of the shrine.

As a result of the outbreak of coronavirus, the traditional flower-laying ceremony of the shrine was held limitedly this year in the presence of Razavi servants at Imam Khomeini (RA) grand portico only.

Wide body screens fixed in almost all courtyards of the shrine covered the ceremonies for pilgrims and some best programs of the ceremony were covered live by IRIB and via Astan Quds Razavi’s pages on social networks.
